About That Place_MG_5955

Plettenberg Bay: The Crags – MMIV

Directions: 19km east of Plettenberg Bay, travelling on the N2 in the direction of Port Elizabeth.  At the Bramon Wine Estate signs, turn off the highway and follow the signs to That Place.
GPS Co-ords: 33° 57’28.89S & 23° 28’35.92″E

That Place is situated in The Crags, on it’s own private wine farm, That Wine Demesne, with it’s sister house, Ons Hoek, just 19km outside the popular coastal town of Plettenberg Bay.
It’s a comfortable, friendly home where you can spend a good, relaxing holiday. Wide balconies show forest and pastoral views, rich bird-life,and, if you are lucky, elephants wandering through their paddocks across the valley!

The house has an open-plan design, with a free-flow of movement from the outside deck areas into the main living space. The kitchen is well equipped and forms an integral part of the dining and lounge area – the chefs are never alone. The lounge has comfy couches, an open fireplace, for those chilly winter evenings, or a romantic one with candles.
A Smart TV, should you not want to miss out on your favourite series on your Netflix/Showmax/Amazon Prime account.  A variety of DVD’s suitable for children as well as a good selection for adults.  There are music CD’s, games, and lots of books.

This three-bedroom house has 2 levels.  _MG_5802_MG_5790Two bedrooms upstairs: The master bedroom, kingsize bed, has an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower with private balcony overlooking the gorge and the elephant sanctuary.
The children’s bedroom is twin bedded – with lots of teddies, toys, games and again, LOTS of books. The second bathroom is next door with shower._MG_5819
The third & most private bedroom is outside, downstairs, twin bedded – with it’s own private balcony and essential reading matter, of course, and you can tuck yourself away from the bustle upstairs and relax overlooking the gorge and absorb the natural surroundings.

On those balmy African evenings or even during inclement weather, the undercover verandah makes a jolly place to relax and cook a traditional braai (BBQ) with the long wooden table a perfect setting for that delicious meal.

Or, spend lazy hours on the deck, listening to the bird life, or thinking of nothing in particular. The swimming pool and sauna are surrounded by trees and a fence (so safe of our junior guests).  The pool is about 4x5m and 1,8m deep with a shallow step for children to wallow around on. There are deck loungers and cushions, toys for the pool, umbrella for a bit of shade and a space for playing boule (pentaque) behind the pool.
